Yahoo and Mozilla tied up in fierce contract disputes

Posted by William J. Cook | Dec 14, 2017 | 0 Comments

Many companies in Florida and elsewhere have chosen to enter a business relationship with another entity at some point in operation. The contract stating the terms of these agreements can be a complex document, and should either believe the other party has violated this arrangement, contract disputes may ensue. The tech company Yahoo has recently filed a lawsuit against Mozilla, claiming that a breach of contract has occurred.

According to reports, the two entities entered a business arrangement in which Mozilla agreed to use Yahoo as the default search website. However, Mozilla has recently ended its arrangement with Yahoo and began using a different search engine instead. Yahoo claims that in doing so, Mozilla has failed to uphold the terms agreed upon in the contract signed by both parties.

After learning of the lawsuit, Mozilla reportedly filed a countersuit in relation to monetary obligations that Yahoo has allegedly failed to adhere to. Mozilla also claims that the abrupt end to the arrangement was also warranted due to conditions present in the contract. The company asserts that continuing to use Yahoo as the default search engine would have been detrimental to the well-being of the company, and that it was well within its rights to end the arrangement.

Contract disputes of this nature can be exceedingly complex, and those who experience a similar situation could benefit from seeking guidance early in the process. By consulting with an attorney, one may obtain advice on the best course of action with which to proceed. An attorney can thoroughly evaluate the contract and assist a client in Florida in pursuing the most favorable outcome possible during subsequent litigation.
